Living Life or Just Going Through The Motions

Sometimes in the grieving process a person may feel like they’re just going through the motions and not really living life.

Going through the motions of life without really feeling connected to what is happening around them.
Going through the motions and feeling isolated from reality.
Going through the motions because of the intense hurt and pain that happens when someone you love dies.
Going through the motions because right now that’s all you seem to be able to do.
Going through the motions just doing what needs to be done…  It’s kinda like being a zombie…just roaming around… wondering when the next shoe is going to drop…

Time passes and the fogginess of grief starts to lift.  Life in all it’s vibrant aspects creeps in to awaken you once again to live your life…  Life keeps happening all the time whether a person actually participates or not…

As the fog starts to lift and life starts beckoning you to join in and participate, I encourage you to start enjoying the simple things of life again.  The beauty of a sunset, a noisy thunderstorm, the majesty of a rainbow, the smile of a child, the cooing of a baby, the tender kiss of your beloved, a stroll in the moonlight, the elegance of a rose, a silly song, a precious memory… simple things that make life so much worth living!

My goal is to inspire you to live life… not just go through the motions.
Each day is a gift…a moment in time…
Right now is the only moment we have…

My challenge to you…and to myself… is to make the most of it!
Life is too short to hold grudges and be critical of others.
Life is too short to waste time dwelling on past mistakes.
Life is too short to play the Blame Game or go on Guilt Trips.

Life is precious…YOU are precious… unique… truly one of a kind…
You are a treasure to me…
You are a treasure to those who know you…

Joy is not in things…it is in us… it is in you…it is in me!
Joy is not a destination… it is a decision…

May the magic of each moment touch your heart in a special way today…
With Love and Compassion,
Susan Holsinger
